Charis-Eirene.com is a non-denominational, non-church, Christian ministry dedicated to providing family and friends with a deeper understanding of the whole counsel of God through His revealed Word.
About The Author:
I, Matthew W. Stofle, Pharm.D. have been a Christian since a young lad and a student of the Scriptures since high school. Currently I am enrolled in online classes at Koinonia Institute – a ‘think tank’ for the serious Christian.
About This Site:
The purpose of this site is to shine God’s word on topics of interest to help the reader understand God’s teachings in areas of our lives today.
About My Beliefs:
I believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is therefore inerrant in the original manuscripts and authoritative in all matters. I hold to a pre-tribulational, pre-millennial system of theology and subscribe to a serious, historical, grammatical interpretation of scripture.
By serious I mean taking Scripture at its inspired face value unless within the context another meaning is obvious
By historical I mean placing each passage put in its historical setting to help understand its meaning
By grammatical I mean words are interpreted consistent with their commonly used original meanings
I believe in the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ to call His church home to be with Him (known as the Rapture or Harpatzo – the snatching up) followed by a seven year period of severe judgment here on the earth known as Time Of Jacob’s Trouble, the last 3.5 year period being the Great Tribulation. Following this time Christ will return to the earth to establish the Throne Of David and initiate His 1000 year reign here on this earth better known as the Millennium.
I believe that Adam, the first man, willfully disobeyed God, bringing sin and death into the world. As a result, all persons are sinners from conception, which is evidenced in their willful acts of sin; and they are therefore subject to eternal punishment, under the just condemnation of a righteous God.
I believe that Jesus Christ offered Himself as a sacrifice by the appointment of the Father. He fulfilled the demands of God by His obedient life, died on the cross in full substitution and payment for the sins of all, was buried, and on the third day He arose physically and bodily from the dead. He ascended into heaven where He now intercedes for all believers.
I believe that each person can be saved only through the work of Jesus Christ, through repentance of sin and by faith alone in Him as Savior. The believer is declared righteous, born again by the Holy Spirit, turned from sin, and assured of heaven.
I believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone; not by works & that that faith is a gift of God, and not of any works we may perform.
This is a brief statement of my beliefs. Each of these points will be expanded upon as time goes by elsewhere on this website
